I have used AVAST for about 10 years and just recently bought an iMac and was so happy they now have it for the Mac (which it doesn't need it) but you never know.

A beautiful and easily configured user interface, a full range of real-time protection options, many scanning options, and automatic definition file updates.
Cons
It's a pity it doesn't have an option to exclude Time Machine backups from scans.
